Congratulations to Beaumont's Boys and Girls Track Team!
The boys had a fantastic season winning both the Tates Creek and Bryan Station Invitationals. The girls were Tates Creek Invitational Runner Up and Bryan Station Invitational champions. Both teams are the 2014 FCPS Track and Field Champions. It's been 10 years since both teams accomplished this honor. The boys team went on to become the 2014 Middle School Track and Field runner-up in the State Track Meet and the girls finished with a respectable 7th-place finish.
Congratulations to Dr. Laura Roche' Youngworth for earning a Doctorate in Administration and Instruction with a research emphasis of language proficiency and teachers' pedagogical choices. Impressive!
Our Battle of the Books team came in 2nd in the district finals, missing first place by one point! These students did an awesome job: Captain Faiza Ashraf, Lauren Prather, Aisha Odysana, and Hailey VanGenderen. They worked extremely hard and it paid off by making it to the finals! Congratulations to the 2014 Battle of the Books team!
Congratulations to Jillian Lykens for being selected as one of sixteen German teachers across the country to participate in a National Endowment of the Humanities summer seminar in Berlin, where we will participate in a fully funded five week course titled Migration and German Culture—Berlin’s Cultural Diversity Across Two Centuries.
