Please note the new dates and times for try-outs for the boys basketball team:
December 3rd:  6th & 7th grade; 4:00-6:30pm
December 7th:  6th & 7th grade; 6:00-8:00pm
December 8th:  8th grade; 4:00-6:30pm
December 9th:  8th grade and 1st cut for 6th & 7th grade; 6:00-8:00pm

The boys pre-season basketball league will be practicing on Monday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 10th from 6:15-8:00pm.

Art Club

There will be an informational meeting on Friday, November 6th at 4:30 pm in room 612 for any student in 6th, 7th or 8th grade who would like to join the Art Club.  Parents are also welcome to attend the meeting.  The Art Club will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00-5:30pm.  The first Art Club meeting will be on Tuesday, November 10th.  The Art Club participates in Art Contests, fun crafts, and will possibly take a trip to a museum.  An information and sign-up sheet can be picked up outside the Art room, outside the Counseling office or you can visit www.beaumont.fcps.net and click on the link.  Students joining art club must have good behavior and a good GPA.       



Christmas Giving Tree Program
If you would like to have your child participate in Beaumont's Christmas Giving Tree Program, please fill out the form that students will be bringing home today and send it back to the Youth Services Center by November 24th.  This program is designed to help students have a more enjoyable holiday.  A teacher/staff member will randomly select an ornament with a number on it.  Only Mrs. Adams, YSC Coordinator, will know who the students are and what number they are assigned.  The staff will buy presents such as clothing, games, books, etc. Mrs. Adams will notify parents/guardians when the presents are available to be picked up.  A parent or guardian must give permission for their child to participate by signing the form that will be coming home today. A phone number is required in order to schedule pick up arrangements.  We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.  If you have questions, please call the Youth Services Center at 381-3107.

- All Band money from the fundraiser is due by Friday, November 6th.

Boys Basketball Lock-In

Cost:  $25/boy; all funds go to the boys basketball program; make checks payable to BMS.


Football News
There will be a Football Banquet for players and their families on Thursday, November 12th from 6:30-8:30pm.  Dinner is potluck.  Please have your player see Coach Overstreet or Coach Payne for a flyer with the details. 


Club/Activities News
Fellowship of Christian Anybodies (FCA)
FCA meets in room 103 at 8:00am.  All students are welcome to attend and bring a friend. The meeting dates for November are the 11th, and 18th.  The meeting dates for December are the 9th and 16th.
Upcoming events:  Bowling at Southland Lanes on November 20th (after the school dance) from 6:00-7:30pm.  The cost is $15 (for two games, shoe rental, and dinner-you may want to bring extra $ for additional food)
Lock-In:  At Beaumont on December 4th from 4:00-9:00pm, all members and their friends are welcome to attend.    
 

School Celebration
Beaumont will be celebrating KCCT (Kentucky Core Content Test) results on Friday, November 13th during the school day.  Each student will receive a goody bag filled with treats.  If you would like to donate candy for the goody bags, please bring it to front office by November 10th.   


Dance Team Lock-In
There will be a lock-in for Dance Team members on Friday, December 4th from 4:00-8:30pm in the cafeteria.

Miscellaneous Information
Did You Know....
The Beaumont Middle School Youth Services Center provides services to many students each month.  During the month of October, the YSC provided help to 136 individual students in the form of clothing, educational support, agency referrals, hygiene, parent contacts, mentoring, peer mediation, transportation, and grief counseling.  Additionally, a Bully Prevention class was held for the 7th grade.    


Project Tomorrow

Ms. Barr has 2008-2009 yearbooks that were not sold last spring.  They may be purchased for $30.


Rosa Parks Mall
Would you like to start your holiday shopping early?  The perfect way to start is by going to the 2009 Rosa Parks Mall, Open House and shopping extravaganza on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 9:00am-3:00pm in the gym and cafeteria.  You can avoid the traffic at the mall, support local business men and women and Rosa Parks PTA all at the same time.  There will be 40+ businesses selling items including scrapbooking, stamping, kitchen, books, jewelry, accessories, hand-made items, food, home interior, cosmetics and more!    For more information, please contact Janice Rajcan at tsjanice31@yahoo.com or call 806-1709.

Spirit Wear Sales
Please visit www.beaumont.fcps.net for an order form.  Order forms can be turned in any day before school to the front office, and if the item is in stock, it will typically be filled and delivered to your child by the next day.  On Wednesday mornings only, students may go to the Spirit Wear store, where the bookstore used to be, from 8:30-8:55 am and purchase items.  Please send in exact change or checks made payable to Beaumont Middle School PTA.
